The longing for a child is not universal! (Ask my kids lol). But for me it was very real. And there have been losses and there have been moments where I thought there would be losses along the way. Every parent has them. It's actually the most undoing feeling to fear for your child's life. People born with uteruses are powerful and our grief upends the world and changes our collective energy.
For those of you who have lost and have had to make peace walking with your child unseen in this world, I'm holding you today in my heart. There's so much more than we can see. For those of us who still have our kiddos with us... May we learn from them, growing better in their presence than we ever imagined we could be. May we celebrate the very capable hands they have to care for this world and not to try to control them, but love and guide them and celebrate them.
If your kiddo is estranged from you on this Mother's Day, my heart holds you. I'm here to tell you that your love and connection to them goes far beyond what you can see in front of you. Not one drop of your love and connection is wasted. But you also have to love yourself into life.
Love yourself into life. You are a whole and evolving human being from the time you were born. No matter what comes and goes from you, you are a beautiful complete person apart from your motherhood and because of it. All of it. May there be room in your heart today no matter who you are and no matter your relationship to mothers or mothering. May the Divine Mother surround you and cause you Joy.
Free Palestine and forgive us for supplying weapons to those who have made thousands gruesomely motherless. May the Mother Bear Divine set things to right.

If you are looking for a way to experience Mother Earth today outside of your own presence here, join me in the delight of this app: Merlin. Merlin will identify all of the birds in your vicinity by sound. This is proof that eco-spirituality can be supported digitally. The very first bird my app heard was a blue jay. They've been all around me lately. First in the yard across the street, then in my backyard and then a few days ago I looked up and there was one peeking in at me through my front door window on the porch. I think they were all the same bird. Only a few days later we are surrounded by Jays because I hear them calling to each other. And there are many, many other birds. This morning I enjoyed a red-bellied woodpecker and I had no idea we had been keeping company together. Productivity might have lost me to my new newest hobby.
Image: [This is a screenshot from the Merlin app which I took after I'd been using it for a bit today. There are images of each bird down the left and down the right hand column are the names of the birds including American Robin, Blue Jay, Eastern Bluebird, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Northern Cardinal, Carolina Wren, Mallard, (which was a mistake, because I think it was a frog) Tufted Titmouse, and House Finch. Across the top of the image is a soundbar showing the registration of sounds as they happen in real time, along with today's date. ]
